With over thirty years experience of the LP12 Sondek, we are committed to offering customers nationwide a wide range of maintenance and upgrade options.

We normally carry six LP12s in stock with various specifications in order to demonstrate the merits of various options whether cartridges, arms, power supplies and other upgrades. To see what upgrades are recommended visit our LP12 Konfigurator.

We are passionate about providing our customers with excellent and consistent servicing and maintenance of their Sondek.

Our workshop includes a specialist Olympus VM microscope in order to carry out examinations of styli.

We use torque screwdrivers to ensure absolute consistency when setting up decks.

LP12 care

Thank you Gordon Inch of Linn Products for this great video

WHAT CHANGES ON AN LP12 TURNTABLE OVER TIME ?

  • Steel Springs sag

  • Black Rubber grommets harden

  • Screws & nuts come loose

  • The belt stretches and most rubber changes from soft to hard over the years

  • The motor pulley can collect rubber and dirt

  • The main bearing may lack lubrication through leak, under filling when built or become excessively worn

  • Be mindful that the manufacturer has a policy of continual improvement

STYLUS WEAR INSPECTION

  • We use an analogue stereo viewing microscope as recommended by Linn 50 years ago and we use the same model but you need to know what to look for.

  • 2000 hours is the norm but some stylii become harder to listen to in the treble - higher end frequencies.
